Our Community
Our Hospital District is proud to be a integral part of the Karnes County Community that it serves. We desire to partner with like minded organizations to build relationships to better reach our neighbors and friends in projects serving the community. We can provide volunteers, sponsorships or support in many ways. Please contact our Community Relations Director should you need more information. Barbara James

We also are supported by the Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital Foundation, that is comprised of Community Members who work to provide programs that support good health and wellness in our local area. The Foundation also offers Medical Assistance grants to people in need who are going through a difficult medical diagnosis. Grant applications can be picked up at the Front Desk or by sending an email to:

Welcome to Kenedy Texas!
As Karnes County largest city, Kenedy is an economic center for the surrounding agricultural area. Occupying land that was once part of a Royal Spanish Grant to Don Carlos Martinez, Kenedy's colorful history as a community began with the purchase of land for a town site in 1886 by Captain Mifflin Kenedy, a partner of Richard King of the famous King Ranch. Early growth of Kenedy Junction, as it was first known, was attributed to its position as a major stop on the San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railroad. In the early 1900's Kenedy gained a reputation for gun fighting that earned it the nickname Six Shooter Junction.
