Dr. Sanford sees patients on Fridays, from 9:00 am - 2:30 pm in the Bonnstetter Building, located next to Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital, Suite C.
Dr. Sanford received his Bachelor of Science degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and his Medical degree from the University of Tennessee, in Memphis. Dr. Sanford went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and glaucoma fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Dr. Sanford Specializes in the treatment of cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic eye disease. His approach is interdisciplinary, working with primary care doctors and internists to manage diabetes and other systemic disease that affect the eyes.
Dr. Sanford holds an appointment as a Clinical Associate Professor for the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He is a current member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, The American Glaucoma Society, The Texas Medical Association, The Bexar County Medical Society, The San Antonio Society of Ophthalmology, and The Society of Military Ophthalmology.
Dr. Sanford has spent 26 years with the US Military and is currently serving as a Lt Col. in the Air Force Reserve Medical Corps as a Flight Surgeon and Flight Commander for the 433 Medical Group Professional Services Flight of the Alamo Wing.
